Eric Bloom is a senior analyst contributing to Navigant Research’s Smart Buildings practice. He has extensive experience researching, analyzing, and writing about the built environment, renewable energy, energy use, and climate change. Bloom graduated magna cum laude with a BA in architecture and urban studies from Yale University.


Bob Butchko, National Business Development, RF Connect LLC

Bob Butchko has extensive marketing and business development experience in the design, implementation, commissioning and certification of in-building wireless communications systems. The range of his experience includes hi-profile venues such as hospitals, airports, campuses, stadiums, arenas and tunnels. His expertise extends to single or multi- carrier cellular, Wi-Fi, LTE, Public Safety, UHF and VHF wireless technologies. He is a lecturer, author and public advocate for in-building public safety radio system regulations.


Áine Denari, Director of Strategy, Ingersoll Rand

Áine Denari is a Director of Strategy with Ingersoll Rand’s “Connected Home Solutions” business. In this role, Áine has responsibility for directing the strategy of IR’s home automation business, managing strategic alliances and partnerships, and understanding competitive and market dynamics.


Ben Dorsey III, VP, Marketing & Communications, KMC Controls, Inc.

Ben Dorsey is a 25-year veteran of business-to-business technology marketing, whose areas of expertise include non-residential building automation, HVAC controls, BACnet, LEED and environmental sustainability.

Daniel Drolet Sr., Executive Vice President, PCN Technology, Inc. (PCN)

Daniel Drolet  is a co-founder of PCN and recognized leader and expert in the field of intellectual property asset management focused in communications, networking and information technology. He is Chairman of the Universal Powerline Association, and is member of both the  Demand Response Smart Grid Coalition (DRSGD) and the Modbus Organization.  He has authored articles in Fortune and Fast Company.

Tim Enwall, Head of Company, Revolv

Tim Enwall is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in software, networking and computing management. Enwall founded and was CEO, COO and then CIO of venture-backed Tendril. Enwall began his career at Apple, spending almost a decade in Cupertino working with third party software, networking and hardware partners and subsequently was a member of the management team at two Boulder software startup companies and a technology wholesale distribution company. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California.

Bob Faber, Global Accounts Manager, The Siemon Company


Bob Faber received his  B.S. degree in Economics from Southern Connecticut State University in 1982 and is the Global Accounts Manager at The Siemon Company. He has achieved the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation from BICSI. Mr. Faber is an active member of the BICSI Standards Committee and has spoken at numerous international telecommunications conferences.


Ken Fairbanks, Sr. Director, Business Development, The Duchossois Group

Ken Fairbanks is responsible for market trends in the connected consumer and home markets at The Duchossois Group.  He has been active these markets for over 10 years.  Recognized as an industry leader, he has participated in industry roundtables and has been quoted in many articles including in EETimes and PC World.  He also contributed to several connected home industry studies.  Additionally, he has a strong background in business visioning and planning.  He held previous positions with SmartLabs, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard.


Jesse Foote, Research Analyst, Navigant Research

Jesse Foote is a research analyst contributing to Navigant Research's Smart Buildings program, with a focus on energy efficient lighting technologies.  He has extensive experience analyzing and implementing a range of green building innovations. 


Robin Ford, VP Business Development, Global Cache

Robin Ford is a co-founder and Vice President of Business Development at Global Cache, a leading manufacturer of IP-enabling and connectivity products for homes and business.  She has more than 25 years experience in high-tech sales, marketing and business development involving enterprise software, display technologies, residential control, and automation and control in businesses and schools. 


Bob Gohn, Vice President, Research, Navigant Research

Bob Gohn leads Navigant Research’s research organization, including responsibility for research content management, client consulting engagements, and key industry relationships for the firm’s five key practice areas. His personal research and analysis focuses on smart meters and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), smart grid networking and communications, and home area networking (HAN).


Fabrice Hoerner, Technical Marketing Manager, Qualcomm

Fabrice Hoerner is part of Qualcomm’s Technical Marketing team where he focuses on the Internet of Everything: advanced communication platforms, middleware and applications that enable enriched, real-time interactions between people and their environment (for example homes, cars or cities). Hoerner received an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, with a concentration in Strategic Management and Economics and holds a Master’s Degree from Ecole Superieure d’Electricite (Supelec) with a concentration in Information Systems and Networks.  


Dr. Patrick Hogan, Vice President, Marketing, Honeywell Analytics

Dr. Patrick Hogan serves in a liaison role with Honeywell's Automated Control Solutions group to integrate gas detection instrumentation equipment with security, surveillance and other critical automated building systems. Dr. Hogan is active conference speaker and author on many safety engineering topics, including the role of gas detection in reducing building energy consumption through on-demand use of ventilation systems and integrating safety equipment through optimized use of controller systems and digital communication protocols such as BACnet. 

David Katz, President & CEO, Sustainable Resources Management

David Katz is President & CEO at Sustainable Resources Management. He specializes in energy and environmental consulting, climate change action plans, sustainable development and resource management, building intelligence rating, life cycle costing and risk mitigation services. 


Shaun Klann, Director, Intelligent Buildings

Shaun Klann routinely speaks on a national level for industry organizations such as RealComm, CABA, and PennState University. Shaun holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in controls and instrumentation. Shaun’s involvement in the industry has lead numerous industry firsts including, the creation of a division 25 specification, the advancement of the Master System Integrator and Smart Kitchen concepts and noteworthy projects such as the General Service Administration’s BuildingLink program. 


Dennis Kyle, Vice President, Market Development, Arrayent

Dennis Kyle has a deep background in the Internet of Things and Connected Home space with his experience dating back to 1996 at McCaw Cellular (AT&T Wireless) where he was instrumental in developing and launching AT&Ts wireless data product. Dennis has continued to be involved in the space while at companies such as XO and Level 3 Communications and most recently Tendril Networks. His particular emphasis and focus at Arrayent is in the arena of consumer oriented branded products.

Robert Lane, President, Robert H Lane and Associates Inc.

Robert Lane is a consummate entrepreneur with over 40 years experience involved with senior management roles involving electrical and electronic manufacturing and product development. He has international experience in telecommunications, computers and mining activities.  Past positions included VP, International at NORTEL and CEO at Commodore Business Machines. He currently serves on many board of directors and advises numerous start-up companies.  

Christopher Larry, Associate, Director of Energy Engineering, exp.

Christopher Larry is Director of Energy Engineering at exp.  He has spent more than 25 years working to minimize the building industry's energy and environmental footprint through refining building design, building modelling,performance optimization and intelligent controls. He has held numerous positions within the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and is a past president of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

Melissa O'Mara is Vice President, Green Building Solutions, Schneider Electric.  She is responsible for enhancing the firm's capabilities to deliver intelligent, sustainable and profitable green buildings to a global marketplace.  Her 24 years of experience includes launching the Green Sigma Coalition, a network of nine leading energy and sustainability solution providers while at IBM. 


Marky Moore, CEO, CSBA, LEED AP, Capital Review Group

Marky Moore, Founder of Capital Review Group is a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor and an Accredited Professional for the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP/BD&C) and has a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles, as well as the LEED rating system. 


Brian Patterson, Chairman, EMerge Alliance

Brian Patterson is the Chairman of the EMerge Alliance, a 501c non-profit corporation established to create application standards that promote the rapid adoption of safe, low voltage DC power distribution and use in commercial buildings including data centers. His extensive technical and work history in electronics, fiber optics and building technologies has resulted in his holding many patents in those fields. He is also the General Manger of Business Development for the Building Products Division of Armstrong World Industries, a founder of the Alliance, and is an active member of the IEEE. 


Thomas Pickral Jr., Director of Smart Grid Solutions, Home Automation, Inc. (HAI)

Thomas Pickral holds a degree in Economics and has a lifelong passion for technology. Pickral has has taken his early career experience at Dell and applied it to the home automation market. He leads HAI's successful Smart Grid Solutions division specializing in Home Area Network (HAN) products. Pickral is an active member of CABA's Connected Home Council and is a board member CEA's TechHome division as well as sits on Smart Grid Working groups for both organizations. 


Dr. Venkat Shastri, Chief Executive Officer, PCN Technology, Inc. (PCN)

Dr. Venkat Shastri is a world-recognized leader in the fields of intelligent automation, control and robotics.   He has held positions at KLA-Tencor and SRI International. His scientific and academic background includes Engineer for the Mars Pathfinder project, research scientist at Yale University, member of the technical staff at the Caltech Jet Propulsion laboratory, and research consultant professor at Stanford University. He received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and has a Ph.D in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.


Neil Strother, Senior Analyst, Navigant Research

Neil Strother is a senior analyst contributing to Navigant Research’s Smart Grid practice, with a focus on smart metering technologies and related business practices. Strother has an extensive background in market intelligence focused on emerging technologies. Strother holds an MS from Northwestern University and a BA from Whitman College.

Clint Wheelock, President, Navigant Research

Clint Wheelock is the founder and president of Pike Research. He leads all operations at the firm, including management of its analyst team as well as client interactions and consulting engagements. His personal research focuses on smart grid technologies. Wheelock has an extensive background in market intelligence focused on emerging technologies, most recently serving as chief research officer for analyst firm ABI Research. Prior to that, he was vice president at the NPD Group and research director at In-Stat. Previous positions also include senior product management and strategic marketing roles at Qwest Communications and Verizon Communications, as well as prior experience in management consulting and private investment banking. Wheelock holds an MBA from the University of Dallas and a BA from Washington & Lee University.


Ronald J. Zimmer, CABA President & CEO

Ron Zimmer is President & CEO of the Continental Automated Buildings Association. CABA is a not-for-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of intelligent home and intelligent building technologies. Mr. Zimmer joined CABA in 1997 working with industry leaders who promote integrated systems and home/building automation throughout the world.
