The Continental Automated Buildings Association has launched an Intelligent Buildings Task Force to examine recommendations made in CABA's Intelligent Buildings Roadmap. The task force will study ways to strengthen the intelligent building industry by developing a business plan to locate market potential and eliminate market barriers.

The CABA Board of Directors has approved the creation of an update to the Technology Roadmap (TRM) for Intelligent Buildings, which will be called the Intelligent Buildings Roadmap. This project was recommended by CABA's Intelligent & Integrated Buildings Council.

The Continental Automated Buildings Association is undertaking a broad industry survey to aid in the development of a parametric model to analyze the life-cycle costs of integrated and intelligent buildings. The organization also announced that it has outlined the advantages of life-cycle-costing in a new white paper entitled "Life Cycle Costing of Automation Controls for Intelligent and Integrated Facilitates."

CABA announces that it is developing an "intelligent building" ranking tool intended to assist building owners/managers and other industry professionals assess the level of integrated systems within large buildings.
