Matthew Beattie is Executive Director, Fiber to the Building Program, AT&T, a component of the company’s multiyear IP transformation effort. In this position, Mr. Beattie coordinates the marketing, sales, and network build of fiber optic services to business properties. The program has seen the conversion of thousands of properties to AT&T Fiber Ready Buildings and delivers a broad portfolio of telecommunications services to building tenants. Mr. Beattie has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including marketing, sales, and operations experience with voice, data, and mobile communications. His work at AT&T and Cingular has provided him expertise in distribution, network deployment, and product development. Mr. Beattie joined Cingular Wireless in 2003 where he launched new distribution channels, including an approach to fully integrate demand generation campaigns with fulfillment at his contact centers. He then accepted the position of Area Vice President for Global Sales in the Pacific Northwest, where he managed wireless distribution to top multinational companies. Mr. Beattie returned to AT&T via its acquisition of Cingular Wireless in 2007. From that point until the fall of 2012 he was the West Region Sales Vice President for the AT&T’s Small Business organization. Previously, Mr. Beattie worked at AT&T from 1990 through 2003 in marketing, sales, and operations. Mr. Beattie graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He did his graduate work at North Carolina State University, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Operations Research. He was in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1988-2002, leaving the service with the rank of Major, and last served during Operation Enduring Freedom as an Operations Officer in Heidelberg, Germany.
