(IS-2013-61) Building energy codes resource guide
This report from the U.S. Department of Energy provides information for local and state governments in the US on energy codes and regulations. Because of their authority over building design and construction, states and local jurisdictions are key players in the effort to improve building energy efficiency. There are two primary baseline documents that states and local jurisdictions can adopt to regulate the energy efficient design and construction of new buildings: the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), developed by the International Code Council (ICC), and Standard 90.1, developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).
