The report discusses how utilities and energy companies are generating large amounts of data and how this can be used to optimize business performance and reduce impacts to the environment, citing that 1.1 gigatons of greenhouse gases could be eliminated each year. The report continues on to highlight that there are many challenges still to solve with big data such as privacy concerns.
